Winter is Here! Snow Globes, Penguins and Polar Bears!

Sunday, January 11, 2015

OK... so it was 80 degrees last Monday... but we have had rain and chilly weather this weekend! At school we still celebrate winter with lots of  "chilly" activities. Here is our new winter quilt.
I went back to school yesterday to hang it up!

On Friday we worked on our  winter tree for our science journal. The little thumbprint owls came out really cute. The snow was made with  the dish sponge seen here. I makes great snow and its not messy.

We will paint penguins and snowmen this month for our
Jazzy Math Journals. The  polar bear will be for our Science Journals.

Last week we caught up on Oo is for owl and Pp
is for penguins in our ABC Art Books.

This coming Friday we will make yummy tortilla snowflakes.
The recipe wil go in our Kindergarten Cookbooks!
"Brrr" I think I better go turn on the heater! Enjoy your Sunday.

  1. Oh my goodness, that tortilla snowflake is too cute!! So much easier than cutting! I don't have a skillet or anything like it to warm it, though. It's funny that you are 80 degrees and doing winter activities. We're below zero temps here and have had 2 snow days.

    1. Hi Lee Ann, I know sunny Southern CA can't even imagine your weather! For the snowflake tortillas we just use the microwave :)

  2. You have such cute ideas! When I read blogs like this, I realize how much I miss the classroom and the kids - but then I listen to Lisa and all the hoops she has to jump through and I remember why I retired! Hope to see you this summer at Vegas!
