The Big Move In! I Survived..Barely!

Saturday, August 31, 2013

I’m sure you all have been in my shoes ! My school has been going through modernization. al of my teaching supplies have been in storage. School started this Wednesday…I got the keys Sunday and 25+ years of stuff all in boxes piled all over the room!

My daughter got stuck with me for hours. Thank goodness for DVD players. It’s amazing how many Barbie movies a 5 year old can watch!

I swear it got worse as the days went on! Where do I put all this stuff in my new (smaller.. less storage) beautiful room?

I proceeded to open over 200 boxes in two days!

My poor Chicka Boom Boom tree has seen better days! I did get all my stuff put away but not a lot of decorating just yet! I’ll put more pictures of first day this afternoon! Oh did I mention Back to School Night was Wednesday evening! I’m off to school to begin to organize all the stuff I shoved into those pretty cupboards!

I hope all your school years are off to a great start! Kim

  1. Oh my goodness!!! I feel for you!

    1. Thank you! Spent a few more hours today...still organizing! :)

  2. No one would understand this but another teacher
I wish you a great school year

    1. I know it will all get done but it's driving me crazy to be so behind! Thank you :)

  3. We had a renovation a couple of years ago in my school. The new design made our space even more limited. Your challenge is one that I can relate to- good luck with your new school year. I am sure your classroom will be beautiful.

    1. Thank you! I know I'm not the only one but boy is it stressful!

  4. Oh, boy- we went through this about five or six years ago. WHAT a hassle! I couldn't believe how many extra hours were required of us, with NO extra pay! Boooooo!
I hope that in the long run, your school will be a better place for you to teach in and be! I'm sure that ours is, but for the life of me, I just can't even remember what they actually DID the place now, other than put in a whole lot of handicapped access ramps. Well, I suppose someday we will have a child in a wheel chair that will need them...
Good luck and keep on chugging along! "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can,...!"

    1. OMG You are so right the bathrooms are huge...Why ??? We could throw a party in there...but of course you can't use any of it for storage! Thanks Heidi I think my new motto needs to be "I think I can" and maybe a few more cups of coffee too ! :) Kim
