I’m getting ready for my Make and Take for “I Teach K!”

Hi Friends! I’m really excited about my Bookmaking session at I Teach K this year. I haven’t done a make and take in a long time. I’m busy getting 100 plus packets together. There is no room left in my den! Now I have to figure out do I ship it all or buy another suitcase?

If you are attending all you need to pack is scissors, markers, glue, stapler and a hole punch. I’ll supply the rest!

We signed our autograph books with our classroom friends and then walked to the other K rooms to get all our friends and teachers to sign.

We topped off the day with water relays, water balloon toss and water balloon fights! (Below the knee only). Then Ice cream sundaes yummy! Now I’m wiped out … but what a fun day. HIP HIP HOORAY SUMMER BEGINS TODAY!

Bubbles of Fun Freebie and Arrr Pirates!

We are finishing up the year with a fun Pirate unit. We made these little pirated for the cover of our books.

Happy Mother’s Day to all my teacher friends! Everyone of you are not only a teacher but a “Mommy” to our Kinder’s all day!

I just finished our May quilt Friday afternoon. The pictures holding the flowers were also in a decorated frame for a Mother’s Day gift.

Today I created these pages to use this week in honor of Mothers Day and put them in the packet too!

The Honey Bee and the Robber is always a favorite with its fun moveable parts! These are just a few of the projects includes in this pack. It’s Pet Week! Some Write the Room Fun and a Freebie!

We celebrated pets during our literacy centers. My kiddos had fun sewing our “pet pouch”. We put our writing  booklet about pet homes inside.

We took out all the words from our old pet mini book and had the children write sentences with questions. For example: Where is my cat? Do snakes hiss? Are you my turtle? On the last page they drew their favorite pet.

On Friday we made a new recipe Loli-Pups I did not have ant raisins or chocolate chips so we used left over M&M’s! They we “Woof-a-licious”.

We have made some changes to our Write the Room. My team and I changed it into a kind of scavenger hunt each month. Eight words are posted in different places around the room. Four are sight words and four are themed words.

After they have found all eight words and written them on their paper,  they flip the paper over and write sentences using those 8 words!

We always wear our themed headbands to write the room. I’m a little obsessed I think I have some for every month except November. I have yet to find some cute turkey headbands! Even the boys love the butterflies and flowers! I just love Kindergarten!!!

Bugs and Bunnies plus some Freebies!

For the past two weeks we learned about living things that come from eggs. For cooking we made these yummy grasshoppers!

Here is the recipe for both grasshoppers and banana butterflies!

I saw this darling butterfly on Pintrist and had to turn it into a recipe for our class cookbook!

Friday we went on a “Living things that come from eggs” hunt. (Plus a few jellybeans and chocolates!) All 125 kids wore their Spring Bunny hats. So much fun!

This darling quilt is from the TK class next door and the one below is from my class. The Children’s hands are the wings.

We added jewels for the bunny nose and the center of the flower on the nest so the quilt really sparkles. The bunny is their handprint. Happy Spring!

I know March is coming to an end but my little Leprechaun quilt makes me feel so happy!

Has Your Leprechaun Moved In Yet? Plus a Fun St. Patrick's Day Freebie!

During literacy centers this week my little leprechauns played this fun sight word game. Each child picks a friend to play with and they take turns spinning, reading and coloring the word on the coin in the leprechaun’s pot. The first friend to fill their pot with gold is the winner! Click here for this activity.

Using a pencil and a paper clip children take turns spinning for a word on the gold coins!

We also made this fun little napkin book. The pictures to glue on your napkin book are included with the link above !

With all this talk of leprechauns our favorite leprechaun “Paddy” started moving in his furniture yesterday! I sure hope we can catch him before St. Patrick's Day!

These are our darling “Thing one –25” hats! My team partner saw them from a friend and I had to make them too!

We wore them all day in celebration of Read Across America. During MATH we practiced addition using our hats. For example: we added Thing 6 and Thing 4 and found Thing Ten! We decomposed Thing 15 into Thing 10 and Thing 5!

After lunch in honor of Dr. Seuss we practiced rhyming with our graham cracker and blue frosting erasable-edible boards. So Fun! (We used a popsicle stick for a writing tool).
